Tools

I’ve begun poking around in the MindManager XML so that I can start writing a set of tools to help people make the most of the time and effort they invest in creating mind maps. I’m offering whatever I come up with here. Anything that you download from this page is subject to the following disclaimer.

We do not guarantee that our products are free from defects. On the contrary, much of what is offered here is crude, proof-of concept software. All software on this website is provided “as is,” and you use the software at your own risk. We make no warranties as to performance, merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or any other warranties whether expressed or implied. Under no circumstances shall we be liable for direct, indirect, special, incidental, or consequential damages resulting from the use, misuse, or inability to use this software, even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages.

That being said, here’s what we’ve got so far.

The MindManager To Do Extractor

Ever want to just rip all of the branches with task information out of a bunch of maps at once? This Windows command-line utility is crude and still being tested, but it seems to work okay so far. Extract this to any folder, edit the file mmtdex.exe.config, replacing my map folder with yours, and run mmtdex.exe. It doesn’t try to change the map files, simply finds all the tasks and prints them. If you like, you can redirect this output to a text file or whatever. If you have any questions, I’ll try to get them answered via email, though I can not promise that I’ll have time to support this. You must have the Microsoft .NET Framework 2.0 installed.
